At Totally Raw Natural Dog Food we strive to make feeing a natural diet as convenient as possible. We will design a balanced diet that is best for your dog and offer support as your dog transitions to a natural raw diet.

Our whole foods comes in custom packaged vacuum sealed bags (1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4 and 5 pound sizes). This means feeding is as simple as taking a package out of the freezer, thaw and serve. Our ground food line comes in 5 pound packages containing 10- 1/2 pound patties. We provide a delivery service ($9.99) every Saturday from Truro to five central areas in HRM with a minimum $100.00 order (we do allow a smaller purchase for first time customers, to allow for sampling of the products without making a big commitment). For customers who want to order smaller quantities, our products are available at Metro Dog Wash, Global Pet Foods and Tailwagrrrs in Bedford. Customers are also welcome to pick up food directly from us in North River. Please call or email to organize a time.

To ensure delivery on Saturday, please provide a couple of days notice to allow ample time to fill the order. Orders received after Friday 10:00 cannot be guaranteed to be ready Saturday (we will try though).

Unless your dog has a special medical requirement, we recommend that adult dogs are fed once per day. The empty canine stomach is like an accordion containing many folds. Within these folds are glands that assist with proper digestion. It is only when the dog has taken on a substantial meal that the stomach is stretched and the glands exposed and activated. Feeding a dog more then once per day leads to inadequate digestion and a constant feeling of hunger Providing your pet with one substantial meal per day leaves them satisfied and satiated. We recommend that you vary your dog's daily meal time. If you consistently feed your pet at the same time everyday, he or she will become conditioned to eat at that time. Your dog will produce strong digestive juices based on the time of day rather then as a reaction to having the meal prepared. The digestive juices are very strong chemicals designed to break down organic tissue. If there is no food in the stomach the chemicals will attack the stomach itself. Dogs will rid themselves of the acid by vomiting, a development that is very unpleasant for your pet. The whole process is easily avoided by varying the feeding time.

NOTE: This feeding régime applies to natural feeding; it is not intended for processed foods (commercial kibble).
